Y'all, once again, this is so long. I just loved Berlin and have way too many photos not to share! After two days of independent travel, it finally was time to meet my class in Berlin! To start, it should be said that my class is titled "Postwar Architecture in Italy & Germany," so many of the buildings were were seeing dealt with the reconstruction, memorialization, and identity of Berlin following the WWII era.Read more
Last weekend I went to Berlin for five days. It started as a class field trip for Saturday and Sunday, but I decided to spend a few days before and an extra day after since I had never been. This was seriously one of the most rewarding things I've ever decided to do.Read more
After some time spent traveling I have come to the conclusion that there are a few travel accessories that I couldn't travel without! From suitcases, to jackets, to backpacks and chargers, here are my top ten accessories I won't go anywhere without! 1. Away Travel Carry-on! This carry-on is amazing. I had noticed it a few times on Instagram before really looking into it, but when I found out it has a lifetime warranty, I was sold! So far I have only purchased the small carry-on, but hope to eventually have a full set! The suitcase features a hard body, four wheels, a leather luggage tag, an inset lock, and a pocket that I use to suspend my computer and iPad while traveling to ensure it will never get jarred! The best part? You can charge this baby up before leaving and it will charge your phone FIVE TIMES! For $20 off your purchase, click HERE! or comment with your email!Read more
Anyone who knows me probably knows of my love for Winston Salem. Seriously, this little city is one of my favorite places on earth and I've had the pleasure of getting to know it one weekend at a time thanks to my boyfriend. A little over two years ago Trevor moved to Winston Salem for a job. At the time it seemed like the end of the world because I wouldn't be able to see him at all during the week, but fast forward two years and I visit as often as possible and am pretty jealous that he gets to love there full time! From the best restaurants and coffee shops, to the farmer's markets and kombucha breweries, to the art district, this place is my little slice of heaven. My last visit to Winston Salem was an interesting one, I was so excited to visit after being gone almost the entire summer, but it was pretty sad knowing that would be my last visit until Christmas! Knowing this, Trevor planned the best twenty-four hour visit ever! We started by going to a new place for dinner called Spring House. I seriously cannot believe it took so long for us to get there. We had made reservations multiple times in the past but for one reason or another we had to cancel every time! Finally, we made it, and it did not disappoint!Read more
After our short trip to Como earlier in the week to get groceries we decided to spend a day there this weekend. It did not disappoint and I've come to the conclusion that I am going to live in Como one day. If it's good enough for George Clooney it's good enough for me! (Yes George has a home on Lake Como)Read more
... and so the adventure begins! Flying from BWI (Baltimore, MD) to Frankfurt and into Zurich!
Packing: Seriously I thought I would never get to here. Lol. I probably hate packing more than anyone, seriously, I packed the morning of my flight. I don't recommend waiting to pack everything, but I can't understand how anyone can pack everything before the morning of. I like to use my last time getting ready for the day as a final check. I have basically the same routine every day so as I use items they get put in my suitcase.Read more
