So I'm two days into my intensive Italian language course and I've never felt more stupid. I am in the "absolute beginner class" and I feel like we are moving so fast! We have only had two days of the class and we are supposed to be conjugated verbs and reading paragraphs to each other! However, I do feel that I am learning much faster than I did in high school. This is the first opportunity I've had to see the inside of my school as well and it is so beautiful. The building is a strange mix of classic architecture and modern.
This school it literally filled with light. The classrooms surround a central courtyard that allows light in the classrooms as well as the hallways. It's strange because since the building is an architecture school is it used in an industrial way. It's common for the halls to have pallets of wood, chairs, and tables with materials on them. From every window you can see the beautiful mountains in the distance.
The computer lab is so interesting! It's so strange to see a painted ceiling with computer desks, giant printers, and modern chairs below.
Back at the Casa I have decided to take a few photos since the photos I was able to find before arriving were few and far between! This is such a beautiful place to live. To any 3rd years at VT who might read this, this will probably be the nicest place I ever live and you should definitely apply for this program!
Then this awkward thing happened today... we got out student IDs. In December we had to submit an application online and it asked for a photo of yourself. Well, let's be honest here I have an arsenal of photos of myself so I just chose one of my favs and then submitted it without thinking anything of it. Daniel, the other student who was coming from Virginia Tech asked me about the passport photo I submitted. I was clueless that it was supposed to be a passport photo, but I thought, well if they have a problem they will ask me to send another one since I couldn't fill out the form again. I never heard anything. Today we got our student IDs......
I AM WEAKKKKKKKKKKKKK.
Anyway. We came back and made dinner! Here's my apartment and roommates! Alex & Jerome from Belgium! Also my dinner, zucchini, tomato, garlic, basilico sauce, and mozzarella... soooo good.
We have evening activities some evenings and this evening was volleyball! Normally I would not join in on volleyball because of my serious lack of hand eye partnered with the fact that I no longer have contacts, just glasses, but my roomies were going so I decided to go! Seriously so fun. Anyway, the casa is just so beautiful at night and day and I couldn't resist a few more photos.
